Notification of Discharge of Untreated Wastewater

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte experienced a discharge of untreated wastewater on June 26, 2023, measuring an estimated 10,000 gallons from its collection system components located near the intersection of Cameron Boulevard and University Road. The untreated wastewater was discharged into Toby Creek. The University has taken immediate action that stopped the discharge and prevented further discharge.

The Division of Water Resources was notified of the event and is reviewing the matter.
